Ireland: Ryan O’Shaughnessy is back with his new single “Lucky One”
Ryan O’Shaughnessy two years after his Eurovision 2018 participation in Lisbon, returns with a brand new single titled “Lucky One’ .
Ryan was the Irish representative at the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal. Now, two years after he makes his comeback with his new song titled ‘Lucky One’, a song that come after his long trip in America, filled with amazing experiences.
The creative team of the track sees O’Shaughnessy himself and Hustle Standard behind the lyrics while Hustle was the person repsonsible for the production. The song was recorded near the Los Angeles International Airport just before the California movement restrictions was implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The official music video released along with the new singleis comprised of footage from O’Shaughnessy’s recent trip to South America, showcasing his experience through photos and videos.
A few words about Ryan
He began his career at the age of 8 in television, where he portrayed Mark in the Irish soap opera television series Fair City. Only a decade later, he decided to focus on music, so after studying at the DIT (Institute of Technology of Dublin) he conducted a course on music at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music in Dublin. There, he wrote numerous songs while later he appeared on the finals of both The Voice and Britain’s Got Talent, performing his song “No Name”. Not long after, he took part in the Irish songwriting competition ‘The Hit’ and released the song “Who Do You Love” before representing Ireland at Eurovision in 2018.

In 2018 Ryan was internally selected to fly the Irish flag at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon. He performed his entry “Together” a song spotlighting the same-sex relationships, which achieved to qualify to the Grand final where it came 16th. This was Ireland’s best result the last six years in the competition.
