Ireland: Ryan O’Shaughnessy to fly the Irish flag in Lisbon

All the rumors  on this year’s Irish participation have just come to an end. According to a Sun’s report, Ryan O’Shaughnessy will represent his country this year in Lisbon! The young artist declares proud and optimistic about his new adventure. During the day, it is expected the official announcement from the country’s public television, RTE.

Everything started when RTE announced that this year there will be no national final as it was initially decided. The Irish delegates rejected names such as John Lyndon, Pat Byrne, Keith Hanley, Brendan McCahey, and Heathers before their final choice. So Ryan O’Shaughnessy, who participated in The Voice Of Ireland and Britain’s Got Talent, will do his best and try to make his country proud in Lisbon.

The Pop Idol of Ireland, as we mentioned earlier, before participating in 2012 at The Voice Of Ireland, The Hit and Britain’s Got Talent, ending at the fifth place. He then released two successive hits that reached the top-10 of the Irish music charts. Interestingly, Ryan is a nephew of Gary O’Shaughnessy, who represented Ireland at Eurovision in 2001 with the song Without Your Love (21st place with six points).

Ireland is the Queen of ESC but counts four consecutive exclusions in the Eurovision contest, despite having tried various recipes in recent years. Will Ryan O ‘Shaughnessy be able to break this negative run and make his country proud?
