Israel 2019: In search of the city that will host ESC

The Israeli National Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) yesterday launched the formal call for proposals to choose the city that will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. Specifically, it aims to reach four cities across Israel to take part in the this process.

KAN will call Eilat, Haifa, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv in order to submit proposals to host the upcoming Contest in May 2019. All four cities will receive the criteria required to host the song contest.

Details of the proposals were reported last month by the Israeli media. Eilat’s proposal is seen as the least likely to win, while Jerusalem has received the support of many members of the Israeli parliament.

The City of Jerusalem is preparing for hosting as it draws plans for the Teddy Stadium, but there are suggestions for support from the mayor of Jerusalem.

EBU will announce the city and the dates of the Eurovision 2019, by September, and after the selection process for the city hosting the competition is in place.
