Eden in Eurovision 2020
After series of auditions, duels and live performances , on February 4, Eden Alene won the final show of “The Next Star” (HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion), the talent show through which the Israeli broadcaster chose as the format to determine the country’s Eurovision 2020 representative. Following her win, a separate national final was held in order to select the Israeli hopeful’s Eurovision entry. From the four candidate songs that competed, the entry “Feker Libi” received the most votes and was selected as Eden’s ESC 2020 entry to be performed in Rotterdam. Further on Eden released a revamped version of her enty. Unfortunately her Eurovision 2020 journey wasn’t meant to be, as this year’s edition was cancelled due to the covid-19 pandemic.
Eurovision Again For Eden
Despite this year’s unfortunate cancellation of the Eurovision Song Contest that left Eden’s ESC journey incomplete, the Israeli national broadcaster, KAN, decided to give a second chance to Eden and will continue with her in Eurovision 2021. However, the young act will have to find a new song complying with EBU’s decision that considered ESC 2020 not eligible to compete in next year’s edition.
