Israel: Kobi Marimi to sing “Home” in Tel Aviv
Israeli national broadcaster KAN has revealed that the jury has selected the Israeli entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. “Home” is the title of the song that was chosen for “The Rising Star 2019” winner Kobi Marimi. The song is composed and written by Ohad Shargai and Inbar Weitzman and will be officially released on March 10.
From the beginning of the month Israeli broadcaster KAN had opened the submission window for entries. Israeli local media reported before that circa 200 entries had been submitted to KAN for Eurovision 2019. The song “Home”, which Kobi will perform at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in May, was selected internally and will be offcially released on March 10. The jury that selected the song was made up of Aviad Zingboym (Chairman), Yuval Ganor, Naama Hadassi and Michal Asulin, Yoav Tzafir and Tamira Yardeni.
Kobi Marimi, who was chosen on February 12 to be Israel’s next Eurovision representative through the talent show “The Rising Star 2019”, also shared some thoughts on his chosen entry:
From first hearing the song really moved me and I connected to it immediately; I thank the committee for picking a song that fits me perfectly, and in a few days everyone will be able to share my emotions.
