Israel: Kobi Merimi wins HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion 2019
After several shows of audition shows and 4 semi final rounds the Israeli talent show of HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion 2019, reached this night its final show, during which the Israel selected its Eurovision 2019 act. Big winner of the night was Kobi Merimi who will represent Israel on home soil next May in Tel Aviv.
A total of 4 acts competed in today’s final show and performed before the jury’s show formed by : Static & Ben-El Tavori, Keren Peles, Harel Skaat (ESC Israel2010), Shiri Maimon (ESC Israel 2005) and Assaf Amdursky. The four comepting acts were :
- Maya Buskila
- Ketreyah
- Shefita
- Kobi Merimi
The final’s results was determine by public and jury voting and consisted of two rounds of voting. During the first round the 4 acts competed in duels and the winner from each duel qualified directly to a the secoud round of voting. In addition, the jury chose one of the two defeated acts to pass to the second round too. The three acts took the stage once again while the public had the chance to vote during their performances.
FIRST ROUND PERFORMANCES AND RESUTLS
Ketreyah–Locked Out of Heaven(Bruno Mars) 68% vs Shefita–My Way(F. Sinatra) 65%
Maya Buskila –Alive (Sia) 54% vs Kobi Merimi –Let It Be(The Beatles) 79%
Therefore the two acts that qualified to the second round of the final were : Ketreyah and Kobi Merimi while the jury decided to save from the duels’ defeated acts was Shefita
SECOND ROUND PERFORMANCES AND RESUTLS
The three qualifiers got on stage for a last performance before the final results were determined. Check out their final performances:

The jury voting favored Kobi Merimi who topped the scoreboard :
Once the public voting was added the overall results crowned Κobi Merimi the big winner that will represent the host country in Eurovision 2019 next May in Tel Aviv. The overall resutls developed as following:
Kobi Merimi : 215 points
Ketreyah : 165 points
Shefita : 160 points
The song Kobi will perform on the Eurovision stage will be selected internally and released on March 10.
