Israel: Kobi Merimi wins wildcard and returns to HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion
A wildcard round of HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion (aka The Next Star) took place last evening following the 1st semi final , 2nd semi final and 3rd semi final shows, during which the two acts that had left previously the competition Osher Biton and Kobi Merimi battled for a wildcard to return to the competition.
In last night’s semi final round the 2 acts performed in front of the show’s judges, Static & Ben-El Tavori, Keren Peles, Harel Skaat (Israel 2010), Shiri Maimon (Israel 2005) and Assaf Amdursky, who awarded 10 points to one act and 12 points to the second act ,while the rest of the votes were awarded by the public.

Therefore Kobi Merimi won the duel and got the wildcard to return back on the competition of HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion. Below you can watch how the voting developed and gave Kobi the narrow lead and eventually the wildcard .
Three finalists had already been selected, but, after the withdrawal of Shalva Band from the contest, Saturday’s show will not only see one finalist chosen but two. So, four candidates will compete in the Israeli final, which will take place next Tuesday, the already selected finalists Maya de Buskila and Ketreyah and the 2 winners of the next and last semi final round. On Saturday we will see Kobi Merimi, Abraham, Daniel and Shefita compete of the last two spots in the final.
