Israel: Listen to Netta Barzilai’s ESC 2018 entry “Toy”(updated)
pIsrael for third successive year chose its Eurovision representative through the talent show, The Next Star. This year Netta Barzilai, was the shows winner and will be the country’s 41st Israeli Eurovision representative. Yesterday evening this year’s entry leaked on the web.
On 25 February , the Israeli broadcaster IPBC, announced that the song Netta will perform in Lisbon is titled Toy. The song has been written by Doron Medalie (composer of Golden Boy and Made Of Stars) and by Stav Beger while its lyric are all in English.
The song leaked on the web yesterday through a Facebook page while today, as initially scheduled, the broadcaster officially released the song which has already rised high expectations for the bookies’s !
Τhe Story So Far in Eurovision
Israel has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest since 1973. The country has achieved to win the contest three times in 1978, 1979 and 1998. After the introduction of the semi final system it has managed to qualify 8 times to the final out of which the 3 times in the last three contests. Last year it was represented by Imri with the song I Feel Alive which finished in the disappointing 23rd place in the Grand Final.
