Israel: On Sunday at 20:00 CET, we will listen Barzilai’s “Toy”
Through her Facebook page, this year’s Israeli representative, Netta Barzilai, announced that Sunday, at 20:00 CET, her “Toy“, the song by which Netta will represent Israel at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest,will be released.
Netta Barzilai was chosen to represent her country at Eurovision after her victory at the talent show “The Next Star For Eurovision” through which Israel chooses its Eurovision representativeσ from 2015 onwards. In fact, Netta is the first woman to win the talent show for Israel.
The song “Toy” is written by Doron Medalie and Stav Beger. Medalie is known to the contest’s fans, as he was the composer of Israel’s 2015 and 2016 (“Golden boy” and “Made of stars”) Israel’s entries, and he directed Israel’s participation in 2008, 2010 and 2013.
Israel has participated in the contest since 1973 and has won 3 wins, 1978 (“A-Ba-Ni-Bi”), 1979 (Gali Atari & Milk and Honey (Hallelujah) and 1998 (Dana International – «Diva»). From the year that Israel began choosing its participation through “The Next Star For Eurovision” qualifies to the final and this tradition wants to continue with Netta Barzilai.
