Israel: The song of Eurovision 2022 be determined in the final show of X-Factor
The final show of X-factor Israel will determine Israel’s participation in Eurovision 2022.
According to Euromix, the Israeli broadcaster “invited” Israeli composers to submit songs that will compete to represent Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest that is expected to take place in Italy in May. The songs will be performed in the last episode of X-factor Israel by the four finalists. The “X Factor” final is expected to take place in January.
The creators who want to get to the X Factor semifinal plans to meet the finalists will be able to do so provided they sign a confidentiality document.
Since 2015, the Israeli representatives of Eurovision are selected through the talent show “The Next Star”. The plans are changing for 2022 where the Israeli representative of Eurovision will be determined through the X-factor show that premiered on Israeli television in 2013 and continued for several seasons until 2018.
The show will have a jury of five people. Eurovision 2018 winner Netta, along with Ran Danker, Miri Mesika, Aviv Geffen and Margalit Tzan’ani.
Israel in Eurovision
Israel has been taking part in the Eurovision Song contest since 1973 and has won the contest four times in 1978 with Izhar Cohen and the Alphabeta, in 1979 with Milk and Honey in 1998, with Dana International and finally in 2018 with Netta.
This year represented by Eden Alene who sang “Set Me Free” which finished 17th place with 93 points.
