Italy: Il Volo wins Festival di Sanremo.
Tonight the 65th Festival di Sanremo,the popular Italian song contest, came to the end, declaring as its new winner: the group Il Volo!! They will be the act representing Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest.
The winner came from a total of 16 participants that performed as following:
- Marco Masini – Che giorno è 6th
- Nina Zilli – Sola 9th
- Chiara – Straordinario 5th
- Dear Jack – Il mondo esplode 7th
- Malika Ayane – Adesso e qui 3rd
- Nek – Fatti avanti amore 2nd
- Il Volo – Grande amore 1st
- Annalisa – Una finestra tra le stelle 4th
- Alex Britti – Un attimo importante 11th
- Irene Grandi – Un vento senza nome 12th
- Lorenzo Fragola – Siamo uguali 10th
- Bianca Atzei – Il solo al mondo 14th
- Moreno – Oggi ti parlo così 15th
- Gianluca Grignani – Sogni infranti 8th
- Grazia di Michele & Mauro Coruzzi – Io sono una finestra 16th
- Nesli – Buona fortuna amore 13th
An expert jury (30%), a demoscopic jury (30%) and televoting (40%) decided on the outcome and produced a superfinal with the Top 3:
- Il Volo – Grande amore 1st (39%)
- Nek – Fatti avanti amore 2nd (35%)
- Malika Ayane – Adesso e qui (Nostalgico presente) 3rd (26%)
The Song Festival was Presented by Carlo Conti assisted by last year’s winner Arisa, last year’s Italian performer at the Eurovision Song Contest Emma, and Spanish actress and dancer Rocio Muñoz who awarded the trophy to the new winners: Il Volo with their entry Grande Amore.
