Junior Eurovision 2020: Israel will not take part in this year’s competition
The Israeli national has confirmed that it won’t be taking part in the upocoming Junior Eurovision Song set to take place next November in Poland.
IBC, has confirmed to Euromix that the country won’t be taking part in Junior Eurovision 2020 which will take place on November 29, in Warsaw, Poland. The broadcaster didn’t line out any specific reason but confirmed that for this year they prefer to stay away from the competition.
Israel in Junior Eurovision
Israel debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2012, when the nation represented the band Kids.il, members of which had are graduated from the “School of Music” program broadcast on Keshet. The band performed the song “Let the Music Win” and finished the 8th out of 12 participating countries
IBC decided not to compete in 2013 but returned in 2016 with the duo Shir and Tim who performed the song “Follow My Heart”. The two of them came 15th out of 17 countries.
In 2018 after two years the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation decided to return holding a national final with six contestants. Noam Dadon was elected Israel’s representative with the song “Children Like These” .
