Kazakhstan JESC 2019: Yerzhan Maksim to Junior Eurovision 2019

12-year-old Yerzhan Maksim will be representing Kazakhstan at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019  in Gliwice-Silesia on 24th November.

According to Kazakhstan’s Minister of Information and Public Development announcement, Darren Abayev, on Facebook the country will be represented on its 2nd participation in the competition by 12-year-old Yerzhan Maksim   .

The government minister outlined the fact that his “performing skills have already found  millions of listeners both in Kazakhstan and abroad.

A few words about  Yerzhan Maksim

Yerzhan is  12-years-old and comes from Oral, Kazakhstan. He took his first music lessons in 2012 while  in 2016  he won his first prize in a song competition by winning the Batumi Dolphin Fest. In 2017, his achievements went on as he came second at Slavianski Bazaar and participated as a finalist in the San Remo Junior Festival 2017.

Yerzhan competed in the Kazak national final for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 but  finished in 3rd place with his entryElimdi súıemin, just 4 points behind tthe winner Daneliya Tuleshova.

In 2019 he participated in the Russian version of the The Voice Kids. Initially , he came 2nd with 27.9% of the vote. His performance of “Adagio” in that final made an unforgettable impression on the audience. After the fans’ doubting stronglu the result , the final was re-held and all the contestants were announced as winners.

Yerzhan’s song for the competition will be announced in the near future.

Kazakhstan in Junior Eurovision 

Last year Kazakhstan debuted at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 after EBU’s invitation to broadcaster, Khabar Agency, to join the contest. The country was represented by the national final winner,  Daneliya Tuleshova and her entry “Ózińe sen” which finished in 6th place at the competition held in Minsk, Belarus.
