Kazakhstan: Khabar TV confirms participation in Junior Eurovision 2020

Kazakhstan’s broadcaster, Khabar TV has confirmed that the country will take part for a third consecutive year in Junior Eurovision 2020 set to take place next November in Warsaw, Poland. 

 As the country is only an associate EBU member since 2016, in order to participate in a Eurovision event it has to receive an invitation by EBU to join the event.  The contest has been aired the last years in Kazakhstan.

Thus Khabar TV, has confirmed that it received such invitation from EBU and the country will be marking its third participation.Through its  twitter account Khabar TV stated:

“Kazakhstan will take part in Junior Eurovision 2020. Kazakhstan has been invited for the third time to take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Poland. The decision was announced as a result of a decision by the European Broadcasting Union’s Steering Committee.”

 

The Junior Eurovision story so far

Kazakhstan participated first time at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 after EBU’s invitation to broadcaster, Khabar Agency, to join the event. The nations was represented by the national final winner,  Daneliya Tuleshova and her entry “Ózińe sen” which came 5th at the competition held in Minsk, Belarus.

Last year 12-year-old Yerzhan Maksim flew the Kazakh flag  in Gliwice- Silesia in Poland where he delivered a captivating vocal performance of his song, Armanyńnan Qalma . Yerzhan topped the Jury voting and came second in the overall results.
