Malta 2019: All you need to know about Michela Pace and her entry “Chameleon”
This year X Factor Malta was the successor of Malta Eurovision Song Contest (MESC) as the format for selecting the country’s Eurovision 2019 entry. The competition reached its Grand final show during which 4 contestants battled for the right to represent the country in Eurovision 2019. Michela Pace was the big winner of the show and earned the right to represent Malta in Eurovision 2019. After winning the first ever season of “X-Factor Malta” in January, Michela Pace released both her entry “Chameleon” and the accompanying music video
A few words about Michela Pace
Michela, was born on January 25,2001 and currently lives on the tiny island of Gozo, part of the Maltese archipelago. She became widely known to the public after this year’s X-factor participation. Before x-factor Malta she had won the Music Talent League in Lithuania, was a finalist in the Baltic Voices competition and attended the Ultimate Artist development program in Hertfordshire London, where she worked with Rihanna’s producer. The entry “Chameleon”
After winning the first ever season of “X-Factor Malta” in January, Michela Pace has released both her entry “Chameleon” and the accompanying music video. “Chameleon” was selected from over 300 songs that were submitted to the Maltese national broadcaster. Chameleon” written and composed by Joacim Perrson, Paula Winger, Borislav Milanov and Johan Alkanas.
Michela will perform Chameleon in the second half of the 2nd semi final and specifically in the 11th place of the semi final on May 16.

The Eurovision story so far
Malta made its debut in Eurovision Song Contest in 1971 and has participated 30 times until now. Since 1991 it participates every year without being absent. The mediterranean country has not been victorious until now but holds two second places in its record (2002 Ira Losco, Seventh Wonder) and (2005 Chiara Angel). Since the introduction of semi-finals in 2004, it has failed to qualify six times.
In 2018 Christabelle, winner of MESC 2018, represented Malta with her entry Taboo. Despite her energetic performance she failed to reach the final finishing 13rd in the 2nd semi final in Lisbon last May.
