Malta: PBS opens submissions for Junior Eurovision 2021
The Maltese national broadcaster, PBS, has opened the submission for the Maltese Junior Eurovision 2021 selection.
The national broadcaster will be using again the selection format of MJESC the televised national final of which will take place next October. The result will be influenced by jury and public voting.
Acts are interested in representing the country in the 2021 the competition in Paris can send in their application via the official TVM online application form. The submission window will close on September 5, 2021. Once the submission period closes, the public broadcaster will select 12 acts which will go through to the national final.
On September 19 the 12 finalists will be revealed while at the beginning of October the online voting will open, with the televised show scheduled for October 9, 2021.
The 19th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is set to take place on December 19, 2021 in Paris at the La Seine Musicale.
Malta has won already twice the contest since theit debut back in 2003: in 2013 with Gaia Cauchi and her entry “The Start”, and in 2015 with Destiny Chukunyere singing “Not My Soul”.
Last year the national final winner, Chanel Monseigneur , flew the flag in Warsaw with her song “Chasing Sunsets” which finished 8th with a total of 100 points.
