Malta: The Junior Eurovision 2018 national final songs revealed
In the beginning of August the Maltese national broadcaster, PSB, had made public the names of the competing artists in the country’s national selection for Junior Eurovision 2018.
A total of 16 acts will compete in the national final that is held by the national broadcaster, PBS. All contestants will perform on stage original songs. Today the broadcaster reavealed the 16 songs that the competing artists will sing in the national final. They are:
- Giorgia Borg – 10
- Thea Aquilina – Back to My Freedom
- Isaac Spiteri – Bonfire Nights
- Yarin Coleiro – Can You Be the One
- Kylie Meilak – Crystals
- Lora Grech – Finish Line
- Jahel Cardona – Home
- Riona Degiorgio – Infinity
- Ela Mangion – Marchin’ On
- Eliana Gomez Blanco – Music Takes Control
- Kristy Spiteri – Nann
- Luana Schembri – No Rest for the Wicked
- Albert-Lauren Agius – Paper Boats
- Zaira Mifsud – Shout Now
- Katryna Borg and Rihana Azzopardi – The Puppet and the Clown
- Aiden Aquilina Cohen – Wherever You Go

We remind you that the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 is set to take place in Minsk, Belarus with a record number of 20 nations participating. Among them, Kazakhstan and Wales are making their debut appearance, while Azerbaijan, Israel and France are making a comeback to the contest. The whole list of countries competing has as following:

Malta in Junior Eurovision
The country debuted in the contest in 2003 and counts two victories , one in 2013 in Kyiv, Gaia Cauchi won the competition with “The Start” . Two years later it was time Destiny Chukunyere’s turn took in Sofia, Bulgaria to give her country its second victory with her song “Not My Soul”. The country’s worst result was in 2005 in Belgium when it came last with the song “Make It Right” performed by Thea & Friends.
Last year Malta was represented by Gianluca Cilia in Tbilisi with the song “Dawra Tond” which ended up in the 9th place with 102 points.
