Malta: TVM reveals the 12 finalists of the Junior Eurovision 2021 national selection

TVM, the Maltese national broadcaster, has unveiled the 12 acts that will take part in the national final for Junior Eurovision 2021.
Malta is selecting its Junior Eurovision 2021 hopeful through the tradional format of MJESC. Due to the high number of submissions PBS decided to hold a two phase selection process , with more jurors added in to review the submissions.
In the first phase of the selection, a number of jurors listened to all the songs and decided on the first 20 finalists. In the second phase a different jury made up of a local and international jurors who shorlisted the 12 finalists.
Thus the 12 actst that will compete in the Maltese national final for Junior Eurovision 2021 are:
- Eksenia Sammut – Building
- Yulan Law – Change
- Amelia Kalabic – Dear World
- Rih & Bri – Drops like fire
- Kylie Milcallef – Keep Your Drama
- Ella Tohamy – Limitless
- Marija Djinovic – Magic
- Emma Briffa – My Angels Calling
- Ike Mizzie & Kaya Gouder Curmi – My Home
- Yulan Law – On My Way
- Myca, Kylie & Denzel Jo – Running Free
- Maria Curmi – Wild and Free
The JESC story so far
Malta since its debut in the contest back in 2003 has achieved to win the contest twice: in 2013 with Gaia Cauchi and her entry “The Start”, and in 2015 with Destiny Chukunyere singing “Not My Soul.”
In 2020 the MJESC winner, Chanel Monseigneur , represented Malta in Warsaw with her song “Chasing Sunsets” which finished 8th with a total of 100 points.
