Melodifestivalen 2018: Karlstad to host one of the shows
Although Eurovision 2017 has come to an end nearly a month ago, we still don’t know the dates of the ESC 2018 but we have the first city that will accommodate one of the 6 shows of Melodifestivalen 2018. The first city is…. Karlstad!!!
Every year, the Melodifestivalen travels across Sweden in different cities every year for the semi final shows and the andra chansen. The Final Show is every year hosted in Stockholm, Friends Arena.
In order for Karlstad to host one of the shows, payed in SVT the amount of 619.000 Euro. This won’t be Karlstad’s first time that will host a show of the Melodifestivalen. Löfbergs Arena, which will host the show, was constructed in 2001 and has a capacity of 10.000 for concerts. This will be the 4th time that a Melodi show will be hosted in this Arena after 2004, 2006 and 2013.
All the cities that will host a show this year will be announced by SVT in the middle of September.
