The Moldovian national broadcaster, TRM, unveiled the names and the song titles of the 26 contestants that will participate in the country’s national selection,  O melodie pentru Europa 2019.

A total of 28 artists sent in applications for participating in the country’s national selection. One of the files was rejected as incomplete while one song was disqualified as it adopted inappropriate hate language. Additionally, two acts (viorela and Che MD ) have submitted two entries.

On February 2, at 11am CET TRM will hold live auditions that will be aired by its  official website. The 28 candidate entries for the upcoming auditions are:

  • Irina Tarasiuc & Lume – Ca Adriano Celentano

  • Vera Turcanu – Cold
  • Iurie Sadovnic & Legenda – Robin Hood
  • Viorela – Light up the night
  • Viorela – Beggin
  • Alex Bognibov – Love me like my daughter
  • Diana Brescan – Lies
  • Sasha Letty – Bananas
  • Iulia Cazaceno – Soulmates
  • Elena Croitor – Te voi canta mereu
  • Che MD – Sub Pamant
  • Che MD – Yarmarokul Bufonilor
  • Alister Mars – High
  • Aurel Chirtoaca – La cinema
  • Maxim Zavidia – I will not surrender
  • Limonique – GravitTy
  • Coral Reef – Self-destruction
  • Marcela Scripcaru – Meteor
  • Anna Cucerenco – Do you see me?

The criteria that will play a role during the live auditions will have to do with originality of the song, the vocal performance and the actual interpretation. A special committee will review all songs by evalutating them with poits from 0 to 12 . The semi final of O melodie pentru Europa 2019 on March 2, while the Grand Final on March 3.

DoReDos represented Moldova at last year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal. At the Grand Final, they placed 10th with 209 points.
