Moldova: SunStroke Project won O melodie pentru Europa and are flying to Kiev.
The final of O melodie pentru Europa, Moldova’s national selection for Eurovision 2017, took place tonight determining the country’s next representative. Winners of the night were SunStroke Project with their song Hey Mama and will represent Moldova in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest next May in Kiev.
A total of 39 acts submitted their entries with the ambition to compete in the semifinal of O melodie pentru Europa. After live auditions in front a 5 member jury which cut down the list to 14 entries which competed in the one and only semi final that took place last week. From the 14 semifinal acts , a jury advanced 4 acts for the final and the public vote through televoting determined another 4 acts to complete the total of 8 acts that competed in tonight’s final. The act’s that competed tonight were:

3. Valeria Paşa – Freedom
4. Aurel Chirtoacă – Dor de mamă
5.Diana Brescan– Breathe
6. Marks & Stefanet– Join us in the rain
7. Ethno Republic & Surorile Osoianu– Discover Moldova

The final outcome of the final was determined from a combination 50%- 50% of jury and public voting. After the jury’s and the public’s votes were announced there was a tie between SunStroke Project and Ethno Republic & Surorile Osoianu first place but the golden ticket won the 3 member group SunStroke Project due to its lead in public voting .
