Montenegro: The 5 songs of “Montevizija 2019” released

RTCG, Montenegro’s broadcaster, has published the five songs that will compete in the final of “Montevizija 2019” on February 9.

Among the five acts battling for the ticket to Tel Avicv is Andrea Demirović who represented Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song “Just Get Out of My Life”. The 5 songs competing at “Montevizija 2019” are:

  1. D-Moll – “Heaven”
  2. Andrea Demirović – “Ja sam ti san”
  3. Monika Knezović – “Nepogrješiva”
  4. Ivana Popović-Martinović – “Nevinost”
  5. Nina Petković – “Uzmi ili ostavi”

Since their first Eurovision participation as an independent nation in 2007, Montenegro has managed to qualify only twice for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest: in 2014, Montenegro qualified for the first time in its history with Sergej Ćetković’s “Moj svijet”, finishing in the 19th place. In the following year Knez achieved Montenegro’s second qualification and the country’s best result with his song “Adio” (13th place). Last year Montenegro was represented by Vanja Radovanovic and his song “Inje”. He failed to qualify for the Grand Final, placing 16th in the second semi-final with 40 points.
