Norway: 2017 Melodi Grand Prix Final on March 11.
The same day with the Swedish Melodifestivalen Final and the Icelandic Söngvakeppnin Final on March 11 , another Nordic country will hold its national final, as the Melodi Grand Prix Final will take place in Norway.
A total of 1035 songs have been sent to the national broadcaster NRK, according to the executive MGP director, Stig Karlsen. From this number a group of 100 songs will qualify to the next stage, where after internal processes the MGP team will choose the 10 entries for the final. This year the national juries will come back in the voting procedure.
Norway has won the contest 3 times ( 1985, 1995, 2009) but this year didn’t manage to qualify to the Grand Final as Agnete with her Icebreaker ended 13th in the semi final.
