Norway: It’s Ulrikke Brandstorp to Rotterdam with her song “Attention”

The Melodi Grand Prix 2020 took place this evening, during which Ulrikke Brandstorp was crowned winner with her song “Attention” and will be defending the Norwegian colors in Rotterdam.
Hosts of the final show that was held at Trondeheim Spektrum in Trondheim, were Kåre Magnus Bergh, Ingrid Gjessing Linhave and Ronny Brede Aase.
This year’s edition included 6 televised shows ( 5 semi-finals and a Grand Final). A total of 10 acts battled for the golden ticket to Rotterdam ( 5 pre-qualified/ 5 selected via the semi-finals).Each semi final saw a number of 4 competing acts from a specific parts of Norway (Northern, Central , Western, Eastern and Southern Norway).

While a recap of the 4 songs was demonstrated the online voting selected the two acts that went in a last superfinal round. During the Gold final round the two acts had the chance to perform one last time their entries. The act with the mosts public votes was Ulrikke Brandstorp who will represent Norway at the 65th Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam.

A few words about Ulrikke Brandstorp
Ulrikke Brandstorp (born 13 July 1995), known mononymously as Ulrikke, is a Norwegian singer. She participated in the Norwegian edition Idol 2013 and later on in The Voice where she reached the semi finals. In 2017 she participated in MGP with her entry Places and she was placed 4th. In autumn of 2018 she took part in the NRKs Stjernekampen competition where she finished 2nd. In 2019, she played the role of Liesl in Sound of Music at Folketeateret in Oslo.
