Norway: MGP 2020 fifth semi final results; Liza Vassilieva completes national final line up
The 5th semi final of Melodi Grand Prix 2020 took place this evening and determined the last finalist of Norway’s national selection. The fifth semi final round took place at H3 Arena in Fornebu, and was hosted by Kåre Magnus Bergh, Ingrid Gjessing Linhave and Ronny Brede Aase.
This year’s edition will include 6 televised shows ( 5 semi-finals and a Grand Final). A total of 10 acts will battle for the golden ticket to Rotterdam ( 5 pre-qualified/ 5 selected via the semi-finals).Each semi final will see a number of 4 competing acts from a specific parts of Norway (Northern, Central , Western, Eastern and Southern Norway).
A special professional jury has already determined 5 finalists , one of which we saw perform in the fourth semi final. Namely Tone Damli took the stage and performed her national final entry Hurts Sometimes
THE DUELS
The 5th semi final contestants of Northern Norway that competed in the following duels were:
Jenny Jenssen – Mr. Hello VS Elin & The Woods – We Are As One
Kevin Boine – Stem på mæ VS Liza Vassilieva – I Am Gay
THE RESULTS
Elin & The Woods and Liza Vassilieva were the ones that received the most online votes in their duels and battled in the Gold Duel that declared winner of the 4th semi final Liza Vassilieva, who wins the last ticket to the MGP grand final.
Therefore the national final line up was completed today and we will see the following 10 acts compete in next Saturday’s MGP 2020 final :
