Norway: TIX wins Melodi Grand Prix 2021 and will fly to Rotterdam

Norway is sending TIX to Rotterdam to defend the nation’s colors at Eurovision 2021 with his song “Fallen Angel” after triumphing the Melodi Grand Prix 2021 national final. 

Following five semi final show and a last chance round, the Norwegian national selection reached to its end this evening with the final show which  saw TIX crowned winner. Hosts of the show were Kåre Magnus BerghSilje Nordnes and Ronny Brede Aase.

The opening act of the show was last year’s MGP winner, Ulrikke, who performed her winning entry “Attention”.

A total of 12 acts competed in tonight’s national final with six of them pre-qualified acts and the rest six having qualified from the previous semi final rounds. The running order according to which the 12 acts competd was the following: 

1. Atle Pettersen – “World on Fire”

2. Raylee – “Hero”

3.Stavangerkameratene–“Barndomsgater” (Who I Am)

4. KIIM – “My Lonely Voice”

5.Blåsemafian feat. Hazel – “Let Loose”

6. Emmy – “Witch Woods”

7. TIX –“Fallen Angel”

8. Kaja Rode – “Feel Again”

9. Rein Alexander – “Eyes Wide Open”

10. IMERIKA –“I Can’t Escape”

11. KEiiNO –“Monument”

12. Jorn –“Faith Bloody Faith”

The results

The result of the national final was determined exclusively by public voting and consisted of three rounds. In the first round of voting  four acts advanced to the next stage. These were: 

  • Blåsemafian feat. Hazel — “Let Loose”
  • Jorn — “Faith Bloody Faith”
  • TIX — Fallen Angel”
  • KEiiNO — “Monument”

In the next round all scores  were reset starting from zero with the two acts who received the most votes  proceeding to a final gold round. The two acts that went on to the final gold round were: 

  • KEiiNO — “Monument”
  • TIX — “Fallen Angel”

The Superfinal round

In this Superfinal round the two candidates took the stage once again performing their entries. The results were presented this time progressively from each of the five district areas of Norway. Eventually TIX won the last round of voting and secured his second Eurovision journey with his song “Fallen Angel” . Here are how the results of the Gold Round turned out:
