Poland: It’s Monika Kuszyńska for Vienna’s stage.

The Polish national broadcaster TVP revealed during the  talk show Świat Się Kręci the representative who will represent Poland at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.

After the special guests and last years participants for Poland Donatan & Cleo,  it was revealed durin the show that Monika Kuszyńska will represent Poland at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in the host city of Vienna. Monika Kuszyńska was chosen via an internal selection by the Polish national broadcaster.

It was also revealed that Monika’s entry for this year’s contest will be a pop single entitled In the name of love. With her entry, Monika and Poland will compete in the second semi-final on the 21 May in the host city of Vienna.

In the name of love is the first single to be release from Monika’s upcoming album, set to be released later in the year. The song has also been recorded in the Polish language and is entitled Obudź się i żyj, however the English version will be the version to be performed at the competition in May.

The song was produced by both Monika who wrote the lyrics, along with her husband Kuba Raczyński who produced the music for the single.

Last Year, Donatan & Cleo were internally selected to represent Poland at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in the host city of Copenhagen. With their entry My Słowianie – We are Slavic, the duo brought Poland one of their best results in recent years, qualifying to the Grand Final and finishing in 14th position.

Poland participated for the first time  at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 when Edyta Górniak in the host city of Dublin. With her entry To nie ja!, Edyta brought Poland their best results to date placing in 2nd position with a total of 166 points.

Poland’s last top 10 placing was in 2003 when Ich Troje represented their country with their entry Keine grenzen-Żadnych granic. The band ended in 7th place receiving 90 points
