Portugal: Elisa reveals: “Me and Marta won’t go to Eurovision 2021”

 Through her social media, Elisa, the winner of the Festival da Canção 2020 with “Medo de Sentir”, revealed to her followers that she will not represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 by direct invitation: “Hello! Me and Marta won’t go to Eurovision 2021 “

The Portuguese fan media outlet contacted the winner of Festival da Canção 2020 and received a confirmation of the fact that she won’t be internally selected to represent the country at Eurovision 2021.

 So far the Portuguese national broadcaster, RTP, hasn’t made any official statement in the subject or confirmed its plans for the next Eurovision Song Contest. However it’s likely that RTP will opt for the country’s traditional format of Festival da Canção in order to determine its Eurovision 2021 act.

Elisa has won the national final with her song “Medo de Sentir” and was suppose to represent Portugal in Rotterdam, but after the Eurovision 2020 cancellation due to the coronavirus outbreak won’t have the chance to complete her Eurovison journey.
