Portugal: Festival da Cançao 2020 first semi final results
The Portuguese national selection kicked off the past evening with the first semi final round of Festival da Cançao 2020. Hosts of the show that was held in Lisbon were Jorge Gabriel and Tânia Ribas de Oliveira.
The Portuguese national selection format ,Festival da Cançao 2020, consists of three shows, two semi final rounds and one finel show. A total of 16 acts will compete in the national selection with the first set of 8 contestants competed in this evening’s 1st semi final heat.
The 8 acts that took to the stage were :
- MEERA – Copo de gin
- Filipe Sambado – Gerbera amarela do Sul
- Ian Mucznik – O dia de amanhã
- Bárbara Tinoco – Passe-Partout
- Blasted – Rebellion
- Elisa – Medo de sentir
- JJaZZ – Agora
- Throes + The Shine – Movimento
Out of tonight’s 8 contestants four qualified to the final show. The result was determined by the public vote and a jury consisted of Conan Osíris (Portugal ESC 2018), Anabela (Portugal ESC 1993), Capicua (national final 2018 composer ), Miguel Ângelo (national final 2018 composer), Héber Marques (national final 2015 and 2017 composer ) and the music industry’s experts Rui Miguel Abreu and Isilda Sanches.
The first four acts that qualified to the final show were :
- Bárbara Tinoco – Passe-Partout
- Elisa – Medo de sentir
- Filipe Sambado – Gerbera amarela do Sul
- Throes + The Shine – Movimento
The Portuguese national selection will continue next week with the second semi final round at 22:45 CET.
