Portugal: Maro selected for Eurovision 2022
Maro is the big winner of Festival da Canção 2022 and will represent Portugal at Eurovision 2022 with the song ”saudade, saudade”.
The presenters of the show were Filomena Cautela and Vasco Palmeirim.
A total of 20 acts and songs will take part in this year’s national selection, which will take place in three nights, two semifinals and one grand final. 10 contestants will compete in each semifinal round with 5 of them advancing to the grand final.
The 10 contestants of the night were:

2 . SYRO – Ainda Nos Temos
3 . Milhanas – Corpo de Mulher
4 . Inês Homem de Melo – Fome de Viagem
5 . Aurea – Why?
6 . Os Quatro E Meia – Amanhã
7 . FF – Bom Esperar Alguém
8 . Diana Castro – Ginger Ale
9 . MARO – saudade, saudade
10 . Pepperoni Passion – Código 30
The Results
The result was determined by a combination of a jury and a public vote with a 50% share each.
The votes of the jury were first announced with the scoreboard of the jury as follows:
The overall result was completed with televoting votes added by those of the jury, after which Maro won and is the representative of Portugal in Turin, leaving in second place the band Os Quatro E Meia and in third place FF:
Maro will be competing in the second half of the first semi-final in Turin on May 10, 2022.
