Portugal: Second semi final results of Festival da Cançao 2019; Final line up completed
The Portuguese national selection format for Eurovision 2019,Festival da Cançao, continued this evening with its 2nd semi final round. Hosts of the show that was held in RTP’s studios in Lisbon , were José Carlos Malato and Jorge Gabriel.
Festival da Cançao 2019, consists of three shows (two semi finals and one final) and total of 16 acts are comepting this year. This evening we watched the second set of 8 contestants compete in the 2nd semi final round.
The 8 contestans of tonight’s 2nd semi final round were:
- Lara Laquiz – O Lugar
- Dan Riverman – Lava
- Mariana Bragada – Mar Doce
- João Couto – O Jantar
- Madrepaz – Mundo A Mudar
- Surma – Pugna
- Mila Dores – Debaixo Do Luar
- NBC – Igual A Ti
From these 8 contestants only 4 made it to the final. The result was determined by public and jury voting equally. Namely, the jury of the competition is formed by the following members:
- Júlio Isidro – Radio presenter and TV personality who has featured on the panel two times previously
- Isaura – Singer and songwriter who represented Portugal at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest with Cláudia Pascoal
- Álvaro Costa – Radio presenter, DJ and TV presenter
- Selma Uamusse – Singer from Mozambique
- Pedro Penim – Founder and artistic director of Teatro Praga. He also presented the Blue Carpet event at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest
- Maria João – Jazz singer and director
- Rita Redshoes – Singer, songwriter, former Festival da Canção songwriter (2017)
