Portugal: Tonight the first semifinal of “Festival da Cançao 2018”
Another great show kicks off tonight. This is the first semi-final of the “Festival da Cançao 2018”, the national Portuguese process of the country’s Eurovision represenantive. The show will be hosted by Jorge Gabriel and Jose Carlos Malato and wiil be aired live from RTP‘s studios in Lisbon.
«Festival da Cançao» consists,as every year, of 2 semifinals and the final. In total, 26 artists take part in the contest. Half of them will compete tonight, while the remaining 13 in the semi-final of next Sunday.
The 13 entries of the first semifinal are:
- Anabela–Para te dar abrigo
- Beatriz Pessoa–Eu te amo
- Bruno Vasconcelos–Australia
- Catarina Miranda–Para sorrir nao preciso de nada
- Janeiro–(sem titulo)
- Joana Barra Vaz–Anda estragar-me os planos
- Joana Espadim–Zero a zero
- Jose Cid & Goncalo Tavares–O som da guitarra e a alma de um povo
- JP Simoes–Alvoroco
- Maria Amaral–A mesma cancao
- Peu Medureira–So por ela
- Rita Dias–Com gosto amigo
- Rui David–Sem med
Only 7 of these 13 candidates will qualify to the final of March 4th. The result will come out after the vote of a jury, which consists of Júlio Isidro (chairman), Ana Bacalhau (singer), Carlão (singer), Luísa Sobral (composer of the 2017 winning «Amar Pelos Dois» ), Sara Tavares (Portuguese representative in 1994), Ana Markl (radio producer), Mário Lopes (journalist), Tozé Brito (composer) and António Avelar Pinho (composer).
