Romania: The 2nd Semi final results of Selecția Națională 2018.

The second semi final round of Selecția Națională 2018 took place this evening at the national theater “Mihai Eminescu” in Timisoara. Τimisoara is the capital city of the region Timis and the main economic and cultural center of West Romania.

Host of the night were Diana Dumitrescu and Cezar Ouatu.

Ricardo Caria was the one who opened the show by singing Salvador Sobral’s winning Eurovision song last year, «Amar Pelos Dois». Ricardo was lives in the city of Arad but was born in Portugal.

These were the competing acts of tonight ‘s 2nd semi final show:

5. Alessandro Dănescu – Breaking up

6. Jessie Baneş – Lightning strikes

9. Serena – Safari

10. Endless feat Maria Grosu – Thinking about you

11. Meriem – End the battle

12. Jukebox feat Bella Santiago – Auzi cum bate

The jury consisted, as in the 1st semi final of Liliana Ștefan , Viorel Gavrilă , Ilinca Băcilă, Nicu Patoi and Marian Ionescu . From each semi final only three songs with the highest score according to the jury’s votes qualifies to the final. The public will have a say only in the grand final of Selecția Națională on February 25.

Dorina Talpeş was during the night in the green room trying to transfer the atmosphere by asking the artists different kind of questions.

While the jury was casting its votes the group Cargo (Romanian heavy metal group) performed its new single «I call you» and more songs significant in Romania’s history of rock.

Guest stars of the night were Neda Ukraden (a Serbian pop singer) and Lavinia Răducanu ( a Romanian opera and jazz singer with a lot of Gypsy music elements in her songs) who performed the song “Chaven romane”.
