RTP : Eurovision 2018 Dates revealed after June 13.
The General Executive Director of Portugal’s national broadcaster (RTP) Gonçalo Reis, opened his cards about the way the country will organize the next Eurovision Song Contest, after Slavador’s victory with Amor Pelos Dois. Quality, elegance and simplicity will be the basic elements on which the 63rd edition of the Eurovision Song contest will be held in 2018, according to RTP’s general director latest statements. Gonçalo mentioned that the official dates of next year’s contest will be revealed after the 13th of June, when the first meeting with EBU officials will be held to determine initial details.
RTP officials are not in a rush to determine the final cost of the organization, as many companies have already expressed their interest to sponsor the whole event. RTP executives are already examining EBU’s Eurovision technical standards, so they are prepared for their first meeting on June 13 in Lisbon. This contrasts last year’s delays that brought postponements and a continuous punching on announcing the host city. The Portuguese broadcaster seems to have already warmed up its engines in order to leave the finest impressions for next year’s contest.
