Russia: Junior Eurovision 2021 participation confirmed
Russia has confrmed that they will be participating in Junior Eurovision 2021 that will take place in France.
Russia is the third nation to confirm its Junior Eurovision 2021 participation, as the submission window for this year’s contest has opened.
Young talented performers are invited to participate in the national selection for Junior Eurovision 2021 who must be at least 9 years old and not more than 14 years old, are a citizen of the Russian Federation or legally residing in the territory of the Russian Federation at least two years. This provision also applies to members of the dance group participating in the performance of the Song.
The performer must be the Composer and author of the lyrics of the submitted Song, or must take part in writing the music and lyrics of the Song. Interested acts can submit their entries until August 25, 2021 and can fill in the application form here.
THE STORY SO FAR
Russia participated first time in the contest in 2005 and has remarkable results as they have finished in all editions in the top 10 places. The country topped the scoreboard twice in the competition , in 2006 and 2019. Last year the country was represented in Gliwice by Tatyana Mezhentseva and Denberel Oorzhak with the song “A Time For Us” which finished in the 13th place with 72 points.
Last year, Sofia Feskova won the national selection and represented the country in Warsaw with her song ‘My New Day’ which finished 10th with 88 points in total.
