Russia: Polina Gagarina will sing “A Million Voices” in Vienna
The Russian national broadcaster Channel 1 has announced that, through an internal selection procedure, Polina Gagarina will represent the country at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria. Polina Gagarina is going to Vienna with her entry A million voices!
Born in Moscow on 27 March 1987, Polina made her first steps in 2003 as winner of the second season of the TV talent show Star Factory. She released her debut single Kolybelnaya (Lullaby) in 2005, and her debut album Ask the Clouds in 2007.
Russia will contest the first semi-final on Tuesday 19 May at Vienna’s Wiener Stadthalle, where they will perform during the first half of the show.
Russia participated for the first time in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 where Youddiph achieved a top ten placingwith Vechny strannik. The country has never failed to qualify to the Grand Final and has so far one victory in 2008 with Dima Bilan’s Believe.
Last year The Tolmachevy Sisters represented Russia, achieving a 7th place with their entry Shine in Copenhagen.
