Russia wins Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with Polina!!!

The 15th edition of the the Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place tonight in the New Olympic Palace in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi city and Russia  was crowned winner with Polina Bogusevich with her song Wings
The show was presented by Helen Kalandadze and Lizi Japaridze. 16 countries participated in this year’s contest and battled for the votes that would give them the highest position on the scoreboard.

The night opened with a short filmed distributing the natural beauty of Tbilisi city and Georgia. After that last year’s winner Mariam Mamadashvili who delivered once more her entry Mzeo. Next on stage was the traditional presentation of  flags of the participating countries while one by one countries and the artists were introduce on stage.

Russia  won first place leaving in 2nd place Georgia . Although Georgia won the Jury voting with 143 points while Russia came 2nd with 122 points, Polina got a total of 66 points from the online public voting enough to reach a total of 188 points that gave her the 1st place.

Here is the final scoreboard after the public votes were added to those of the jury voting and brought Russia in 1st place. In orange color are displayed the points won from the online voting and on the right side the total with Jury voting included.

In this year’s edition of Junior Eurovision the final result was determined by a combination of public online voting contributing with a 50% in the total votes, while the rest 50% came from the 16 national juries. The public voting was split up into two phases, one from 24/11 until a few minutes before the live show started and the second phase that took place for 15 minutes after the 16 entries were performed on stage.
