Samir & Viktor for Melodifestivalen 2016
Two weeks after Ace Wilder, Oscar Zia and Lisa Ajax were reported to be participating in Melodifestivalen 2016, a Swedish newspaper is reporting that Samir & Viktor will also be returning to Melodifestivalen this year. According to reports, Samir & Viktor will be entering with a song written by Melodifestivalen legend Fredrik Kempe. He’s the man behind huge Melfest and Eurovision hits, such as “Popular”, “Undo”, “Blame it on the Disco” and “Sting”.
Samir & Viktor or Samir och Viktor is a Swedish music duo that consists of Paradise Hotel contestant Samir Badran and fashion blogger Viktor Frisk. Samir & Viktor participated in Melodifestivalen 2015 with the song “Groupie”, the song finished 8th in the Final. “Groupie” proved very successful commercially reaching number 3 on Sverigetopplistan, the official Swedish Singles Chart. The duo’s follow-up single was “Saxofuckingfon”, the song has peaked to number 2 on the Swedish Singles Chart.
In May 2014 the duo released their first music single called “Success”. The song peaked at number one in its first week on the Swedish iTunes chart and reached number 3 on Sverigetopplistan, the official Swedish Singles Chart.
