Sanna Nielsen takes revenge in Melodifestivalen
13 years after her first appearance and seven attempts later, Sanna Nielsen won Melodifestivalen yesterday and therefore, she’ll finally have the chance to represent her country in Eurovision. The 29 years old singer got 2 points more in the overall result than Ace Wilder who won the jury vote.
25.8% versus 23.8%, only 2% more than Ace Wilder made Sanna Nielsen get 9 points more and end up with 212 points, 2 points more than her competitor. Ace got 5 times 12 points from the jury and Sanna only got them once (from Spain). During the tele voting process, Sanna and Ace got almost the 50% of the votes. This was the final score:
Sanna Nielsen – Undo – 212
Ace Wilder – Busy Doin’ Nothin’ – 210
Alcazar – Blame It On The Disco – 110
Helena Paparizou – Survivor – 84
Linus Svenning – Broder – 83
YOHIO – To The End – 82

Sanna Nielsen first appeared in Melodifestivalen when she was 16 years old in 2001. She scored third in the Swedish National Final for the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in… yes, you’re right Copenhagen! She’s the only artist to have got twice the best score of tele voting. First time was back in 2008 with the song Empty Room, although that time, the jury gave the victory to Charlotte Perrelli. She has recorded nine albums and she has just released a new CD with eight songs with the name Rainbow, including the song that will represent Sweden in Eurovision 2014.
The song has been written by Fredrik Kempe, David Kreuger and Hamed Pirouzpanah. Fredrik, who entered Melodifestivalen 2005 with Sanna, is 42 and he’s been involved in Eurovision for five times now, after Hero in 2008, sung by Charlotte Perrelli, 2009 with La Voix, Malena Ernman, 2010 with My heart is yours with Norway’s Didrik Solli-Tangen and Popular by Eric Saade in 2011.
This was Sanna performance in the Friends Arena:
Sweden will participará en la primera parte de la primera semifinal el próximo 6 de mayo.
