Serbia: Names of the Candidates – National Final on 15 February
RTS has revealed names of the 3 candidates and the dates for the 2015 Serbian Eurovision national selection have been revealed. After one year of absence, Serbia is returning to the Eurovision Song Contest and the Serbian broadcaster gave to the public the names of the finalists in the Serbian national final.A total of 3 acts will battle for the golden ticket to Vienna:
- Bojana Stamenov
- Danica Krstic
- Aleksa Jelić
The Serbian national selection this year will consist of 2 shows scheduled to be aired on RTS on 14 and 15 February respectively. On the first show on Saturday 14 February the composer of the 2015 Eurovision Serbian entry Vladimir Graic will officially present the 3 competing acts to the Serbian audience and a teaser of the songs will be revealed. On Sunday 15 February the 2015 Serbian national final is scheduled to be held in Belgrade.
Vladmir Graic was the man behind the 2007 Serbian Eurovision winning entry Molitva.He has been commissioned by RTS to present a total of 3 entries for the Serbian national final.
Danica Krstic was selected to compete in the grand final via a public selection on 14 December. Whilst the composer has chosen the other 2 acts for the final: Bojana Stanemov, Aleksa Jelic.
Aleksa Jelić is a well known Serbian singer. He will be well known to Eurovision fans as he competed in the Serbian national final- Beovizija twice; in 2007 with his entry Beli gradachieving a 7th place and in 2008 in duet with Ana Stajdohar and their entry Beli jablan,achieving a 2nd place behind Jelena Tomasevic.
Serbia participated last time in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 in Sweden (Malmo) with the Moje 3 and their entry Ljubav Je Svuda. The gruop failed to qualify to the final.
Serbia has one victory in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 when Marija Serifovic triumphed with Molitva in Helsinki.
