Serbia: RTS confirms JESC 2020 participation and opens submission period
The Serbian broadcaster, RTS, has confirmed that it will taking part in Junior Eurovision 2020 and kicked off the submissions for the contest set to take place in Warsaw on November 29.
Following the confirmation of participation in Junior Eurovision 2020 to Eurofestivales Serbia is moving on with the selection process making an open invitation to all acts in order to select internally the next representative. RTS hasn’t held a televised national selection since 2017.
RTS has invited interested acts to send in their songs from 14 July up to September 1 , 2020 . All submissions must comply with the rules of this year’s process which can be found here .
Serbia in Junior Eurovision
Serbia participated in the contest as an independent country in Junior Eurovision 2006, while in the 2005 edition participated under the name “Serbia and Montenegro” when both nations were as one country.
The country hasn’t missed an edition since 2006 except three years (2011 – 2013). Serbia’s best results were in 2007 and 2010 when they finished in third place and the worst result was in the 2016 edition finishing last.
Last year the Balkan country was represented by Darija Vračević performed “Podigni glas” achieve a top 10 placing as she finished 10th with 109 points.
