Serbia: RTS extends submission deadline for Beovizija 2019

The Serbian national broadcaster , RTS, decided to extend the submission period for the country’s national selection Beovizija, for 15 days more.
At the beginning of August RTS opened the submission window for songs initially up to November 1. According to new facts, this deadline has been extended for 15 days making November 15 tha new deadline. This took place so as more songs will make the national selection more competitive. RTS outlined that it will focus mostly on the songs than the act, reserving the right to select a different act or song to represent Serbia at Tel Aviv.
Once all songs submitted , RTS will review all songs , alongside with a special organized committee , which won’t know the singers or composer identity. The best considered songs will be selected to compete in Beovizija 2019. In the final round of Beovizija, the winner will be determined by a a jury of music experts and the public vote , having a 50% share each.
Beovizija was used a format to select the Serbian Eurovision act χρησιμοποιήθηκε, from 2003 until 2009 ( 2004, 2005 and 2006 for Serbia-Montenegro, while the rest years for Serbia). In the last edition of the Beovizija, Sanja Ilic & Balkanika won the national final and represented the country in Lisbon with their song Nova Deca, which came 19th in the final with a total of 113 points .
