Slovenia: EMA 2018 National Final on February 23.
The Slovenian national broadcaster, RTVSLO, revealed more details on EMA 2018 , the event through which the country selects is representative for the Eurovision Song Contest.
The final of EMA 2018 will take place in Studio 1 of RTVSLO in the city of Ljubljana. According to sources, the semi final will be held on February 17 , one week before the grand final. Unlike last year’s selection, the public won’t be able to attend neither of this year’s events while the competing entries won’t be fully revealed until the semi final.
In the semi final 16 songs will compete for eight places in the final. Four of them will be determined by the public voting and another pack of four by the jury vote. During the semi final the songs should be performed in Slovenian, but in the final there won’t be any language restriction.
The 16 contestants and the song titles are :

- INA SHAI – “V nebo”
- Indigo – “Vesna”
- KiNG FOO – “Žive sanje”
- Lara Kadis – “Zdaj sem tu”
- Lea Sirk – “Cirque”
- ManuElla – “Dan potem”
- Marina Martensson – “Blizu”
- MILA – “Svoboda”
- Nika Zorjan – “Uspavanka”
- Nuška Draš?ek – “Ne zapusti me zdaj”
- ORTER – “Tiso? let”
- Proper – “Ukraden cvet”
- Tanja Ribic – “Ljudje”
Slovenia has been using EMA (Evrovizijska Melodija) to select its Eurovision entry since 1993, except 2012 and 2013.
EMA 2017 winner, Omar Naber, performed on stage in Kiev his song «On My Way», but didn’t manage to qualify to the Grand Final as he finished in 17th place in the semi final with 36 points only.
