Spain chooses Ruth!
After an exciting voting and a tie in the first position, Ruth won the ticket to Copenhagen to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest.
The title of the song is “Dancing on the rain” and it’s been written by Ruth Lorenzo herself, Jim Irvin and Julian Emery. Ruth Lorenzo was one of the contestants in X-Factor 2008 in the UK and has developed a musical career after it. Last year, she decided to conquer the Spanish musical market and enter the Spanish National Final in 2014.
Surprisingly, all three members of the jury gave the same votes: 6 points to La Dama, 7 points to Raúl (Spanish NF 2000), 8 points to Jorge González (Spanish NF 2010), 10 points to Ruth and 12 points to Brequette, whose song “Más (Run)” was composed by the duet behind “Quédate Conmigo” (ES12), Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson and Thomas G:sson.
However, the televoting reversed the highest positions and gave 12 points to Ruth and 10 to Brequette, so there was a tie in the first positions. According to the rules, in the event of a tie, the televote will prevail, which means that Ruth was the winner of the night.
Ruth gave a powerful performance and showed off that she’s a great artist that will fight to get a great position for Spain in Copenhagen.
