Spain: Get to know Amaia and Alfred
Alfred Garcia (Alfred García Castillo) was born in the city of Prat of Llobregat, Barcelona, in March 14th ,1997. We first met this Spanish singer and composer through his participation in the contest “Operación Triunfo 2017”, where came 4th, thanks to the support of the public majority, receiving the 43% of the votes among the three songs finalists. He began formal training in vocals and trombone at the age of seven and is also a self-taught guitarist, drummer, and keyboardist. He got musical training in the “Unió Filharmònica del Prat” and he also studied audiovisual communication in the International University of Catalonia. Nowadays,he is in his third year of a higher degree in music and jazz and modern music studies at the “Taller de Músics of Barcelona”. Being autodidact in many instruments, he early began to sing in music bars since 2011. In 2012, in the age of 15,he released his first album produced by himself, entitled “Beginning” and in his 17, thanks to the music project “The Capsa”, he released the album “She Looks So Beautiful“, written by himself and produced by Esteban García . This album gave Alfred the “Audience Award” at the Festival Cara B in Barcelona.
In 2016, Alfred participated in the Spanish “The voice”,where, after singing «Waiting the world to change», no coach turned and Alfred ended his short presence in the show. The same year, García released the self-produced acoustic album Inblack (Volume One).
Amaia Romero Arbizu ,also known as Amaia Rosemary, is a Spanish singer. She became famous after her participation and her victory in “Operación Triunfo 2017”.
Amaia Rosemary was born in January 3rd,1999 in the city of Pamplona, Navarre. Amaia belongs to a family of musicians, as her uncle, Joaquin, was the manager of “choir pamplonés” since 2008 until 2016. Amaia is also the niece of Carmen Arbizu, professor of superior conservatory of Navarre since 1990. She is in the last year of studying for a degree in piano. In 2010, when she was only 11,she participated in a kid’s talent show where sang alongside with David Civera and Sergio Rivero, winner of Operación Triunfo 2005. In 2011, she was one of the two winners of the scholarship of rock camp 2011, participating in the camp during 2011 and 2012. n 2017, Romero auditioned for series nine of tv music contest “Operación Triunfo”. On 23 October 2017, she was selected to enter the show’s “Academy”.
Amaia became the finalist of contest thanks to the 40 points (maximum score in the history of program) granted from the members of jury. Later, in February of the same year, was proclaimed as the winner of the contest with a 46% of the votes.
Amaia with Alfred will represent Spain at ESC 2018 with the song “Tu canción”, composed by Raúl Gómez and Sylvia .
