Spain: RTVE confirms participation in Junior Eurovision 2020
The Spainish national broadcaster, RTVE, has confirmed that the country will participate in the next Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Poland the following November.
While the covid-19 pandemic causing an unstable situation, the national broadcasters are looking over the situation day by day in order to finalize their decision regarding their JESC 2020 participation.. Spain is one of the countires that has decided to confirm that it will be present in Warsaw on November 29.
Meanwhile RTVE, has already begun its search for the next Spanish hopeful. The broadcaster is seeking for young artists between 9 and 14 years old as representatives of Spain in Eurovisión Junior.
Spain joins the six countries that have already confirmed their attendance at the 18th edition of the children’s contest.

Germany (NDR)
Ireland (TG4)
Kazakhstan (Khabar TV)
Netherlands (AVROTROS)
Poland (TVP) – host country
Spain in Junior Eurovision
Spain has a total of five participations in the contest and has achieved outstanding results in its short history. The country counts a victory thanks to “Antes muerta que sencilla”(Before dead than simple) performed by María Isabel (2004) , two second places ( Sergio, in 2003 and Antonio José, in 2005 ) and a fourth position ( Dani Fernández, in 2006 ).
Spain made an impressive come back to the competition last year after 13 years away . The young talented act, Melani Garcia made a stunning performance with “Marte” (Mars) on the stage of Gliwice-Silesia and achieved to finish in the honorable 3rd place.
