Spain: The first 4 finalists of Operacion Triunfo’s Eurovision Gala.

Spain: The first 4 finalists of Operacion Triunfo’s Eurovision Gala.

Last night, during the competing Gala of  Operacion Triunfo,  the first four finalists were determined for the entire show and the Eurovision 2018 national final (Eurovision Gala).  The fifth and last finalist will be announced next Monday and will be the one that the public voting saves between the two students, who are in danger of elimination.

After their latest performances the  Operacion Triunfo jury, rated the six contestants and the three acts with the highest score qualified automatically to the Operacion Triunfo final and the Eurovision Gala. The artists that accomplished this were :

  • Amaia
  • Miriam
  • Alfred

After that the school teachers  saved one of the other three contestants, allowing him accordingly to qualify to the final and the Eurovision Gala too. The contestant that the teachers saved was:

  • Aitana

So the other two students will battle for the public’s vote , in order to remain in the game and qualify to the Operacion Triunfo final and the Eurovision Gala.  The two contestants are:

  • Agoney
  • Ana Guerra

The winner of this battle will be announced next Monday , during the Eurovision Gala show. On the 23rd of this month will be revealed the five competing songs that the 5 finalist will perform during the Eurovision Gala show. The outcome of the Eurovision Gala will determine Spain’s next representative for Eurovision 2018. The final of Operacion Triunfo, however, will take place one week after the Eurovision Gala.

Last year Spain was represented by Manel Navarro , after a dramatic national selection, featured mostly by the fans’ reactions  objecting to the outcome determined by the jury. His song Do it for your lover scored a disappointing total of 5 points leaving Spain in the last place of the Grand Final.
