Sweden: Mans Zelmerlow nominated at Rockbjornen 2015
Mans Zelmerlow who won the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in May with his anthemic electro stomper Heroes has been nominated in several categories at this year’s prestigious Swedish version of the Grammy Awards, Rockbjornen 2015.
Earlier this year we saw Mans Zelmerlow lift the trophy for Sweden with Heroes in Vienna. He has enjoyed successful music and television career in Sweden. Mans first came to prominence participating in Swedish Idol 2005 alongside contemporaries Ola and Agnes Carlsson. He has participated as a performer at Melodifestivalen on 3 occasions and also hosted the competition in 2010 alongside Dolph Lundgren.
Fresh from his success at Eurovision Mans has received the ultimate compliment in finding himself nominated in several categories in the prestigious Rockbjornen awards this year including Best Male Artist.
Mans will take time out from his successful European ‘Heroes’ tour to attend the prestigious awards on the 12th August at Kungsträdgården in Stockholm. Zelmerlow will then continue his tour which will see him play to audiences in London and Dublin later this year. The story so far
Sweden has won the Eurovision Song Contest on 6 occasions. The first time was with the legendary ABBA back in 74. Past winners have included Herreys, Carola, Charlotte (Nillson) Perrelli and more recently Loreen. They achieved a very respectable 3rd place last year with Sanna Nielsen and her entry Undo. Mans Zelmerlow claimed the grand prix for a sixth time for Sweden in May at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest held in Vienna.
