Sweden: Rehearsal footage of the “Melodifestivalen 2019” Semi-Final 3 acts

Sweden’s quest for its Eurovision 2019 representative continues this Saturday with the third semi-final of “Melodifestivalen 2019”.

“Melodifestivalen 2019” consists of 4 semi-final rounds, a “second chance semi-final” and the grand final to be held on March 9. A total of 28 acts take part in this year’s edition, with 7 acts to compete in each of the first four semi-final rounds. The first two acts of each semi-final qualify directly to the grand final while the third and fourth places go to the “second chance” semi-final. The show is hosted by Marika Carlsson, Eric Saade, Kodjo Akolor and Sara Dawn Finer.

Today the rehearsals of the upcoming third semi-final took place. Here is a taste of what we will see this Saturday in Leksand:

  • The Lovers of Valdaro – “Somebody Wants” (watch rehearsal here)

  • Martin Stenmarck – “Låt skiten brinna” (watch rehearsal here)


  • Lina Hedlund – “Victorious” (watch rehearsal here)


  • Omar Rudberg – “Om om och om igen” (watch rehearsal here)


  • Rebecka Karlsson – “Who I Am” (watch rehearsal here)


  • Jon Henrik Fjällgren – “Norrsken” (watch rehearsal here)


Among the competing acts is Martin Stenmarck, who represented Sweden at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev with his song “Las Vegas”. He finished 19th out of 24 competing songs in the final with 30 points. Other returning artists to the stage of “Melodifestivalen” are Jon Henrik Fjällgren (Melodifestivalen 2015 and 2017), Dolly Style (Melodifestivalen 2015 and 2016) and Lina Hedlund, who is best known for her participation as a member of Alcazar in 2009, 2010 and 2014. She also participated with her sister in 2002 and as a solo artist in Melodifestivalen in 2003. Omar Rudberg was a member of the boyband FO&O, that participated in Melodifestivalen 2017 with the song “Gotta Thing About You”.
