Sweden: Thorsten Flinck disqualified from Melodifestivalen 2020
The Swedish national broadcaster, SVT, announced this morning that Thorsten Flinck has been disqualified from Melodifestivalen 2020.
The reason of such development arouse after the recent revelation that Thorsten had been criminally charged for unlawful threat and vandalism,. As soon as the broadcaster was informed of this it reacted immediately by annoucing his disqualification from the Swedish festival . leaving the broadcaster with next to no option but to remove him from this year’s competition. He was due to compete at next weekend’s second heat in .
Thorsten was set to to compete in the upcoming 2nd semi fina round in Gothenburg. However Thorsten may be now out of the picture but his entry Miraklernas tid‘ remains in the competition and will be performed by a new act. The disqualified act was no strange to the competition as he had competed in Melodifestivalen 2012 with his song Jag reser mig igen.
The unpleasant development comes after last night first semi final round live at Saab Arena in Linköping. Robin Bengtsson & The Mamas won the direct ticket to the grand final while Malou Prytz & Felix Sandman advanced to the Second Chance round.
